Hurricanes.

The Modern Mexican Master show was good for me. I sold 50% of what I was showing. The joy was hard to enjoy though with the natural disasters in Louisiana and Texas. I was not even feeling to write in the blog about the show, but everything that was happening around. In Austin we had thousands of people coming from Louisiana with terrible stories. Then few weeks later hurricane Rita arrived. About 1,700 people came from Houston to Austin looking for a safe place. My friend drove 12 hours and the mother of a friend 17 hours. This is crazy!

Certainly this let us thinking a lot: Was the government acting fast? Are we helping enough, Are we provoking this catastrophes with our constant threat to nature? What else can I do?

What do you think?

The Art Show so far...

The show so far has been great. Five paintings are sold. There was a moment on Saturday that one of my paintings was put on hold for a couple and there was a waiting list to get it. My ego was up in the sky :) . Two more weekends of the show and I will have the total paintings sold.

In the other hand, a Gallery in Florida just rejected me. It seems that I do not full fill the taste of their clientele. I will keep trying to enter to Florida Market.

The Gallery sold the first painting of the show...and it was mine.

Yesterday was a nice day!. Art on 5th. Gallery sold the first painting of the show Modern Mexican Masters. They sold it the very first day of the show and the painting was mine!!. It was my abstract painting Roots. Acrylic on canvas. 48x48 inches.

Then in the evening, a collector confirmed me that he was going to keep a painting he was evaluating at home. From the Sky. Acrylic on Masonite. 18x60 inches.

And if that was not enough, my 3 years old son told me that I was his best friend.

What a good day!.

Abstract Art with 3-D depth.

My name appeared yesterday in the Austin Newspaper. My friend Wendy sent me an e-mail saying that the Newspaper printed one of my paintings and wrote about my art. I was very excited! I did not know about it. They talked about the coming show and a picture of my abstract painting Roots. It was a nice way to begin the day.

They called the note ABSTRACT ART WITH 3-D depth. Here there is a link to their web version. They do not display my painting in this version though.

My first interview.

Art by Latin Artists (ABLA) interviewed me few weeks ago. It was a nice experience that let me talk a little more about myself. I liked it.... ohh well! who does not like to talk about themselves?

Any way, this blog begins with my next coming Art Show.
